Abstract

Abstract —This research delves into the evolving role of wine architecture and its transformation from functional production facilities into cultural and experiential hubs, integral to the global enotourism sector. By examining luxury and design-centric wineries, the study highlights the architectural, cultural, and economic significance of these spaces, emphasizing their potential to enhance both brand identity and visitor experiences. A multi-disciplinary methodology was developed, encompassing the classification and evaluation of wineries based on architectural styles, corporate philosophies, sustainability practices, and enotouristic potential. The analysis includes a comprehensive examination of wineries’ integration with their landscapes, use of innovative materials, and approaches to balancing tradition with contemporary demands. The research also introduces and tests digital tools for remote wine tastings, a critical innovation to sustain engagement in the context of global disruptions such as the COVID-19 pandemic. By implementing structured analytical frameworks, the study identifies best practices for designing and managing luxury wineries, with particular focus on sustainability, aesthetic coherence, and visitor interaction. Guidelines are proposed for the creation of wineries that are not only production spaces but also destinations offering unique cultural, artistic, and sensory experiences, thereby enhancing their appeal to a diverse and increasingly discerning audience. This work contributes to the broader understanding of how architecture, tourism, and viticulture can synergistically promote regional development and global brand visibility.
